Here I will discuss how to start working from home as an affiliate marketer. This is a crash course in affiliate marketing. This is by no means a full in depth look at affiliate marketing, just a quick guide to getting you started making money online right away. What you learn here will give you a push in the right direction. So have fun.
BECOMING AN AFFILIATE MARKETER
O.K. Now that you have signed up with Clickbank, you can select a product that you think will sell well. To do this just go to WWW.CLICKBANK.COM. Once there click on PROMOTE PRODUCTS located on the left side of the screen. Here you will see the different categories of products. Select a category and start browsing. Once you find a link that you like click it. This will take you to the page or product that you will be promoting. Check it out and take your time to make sure that this is the product that you would like to promote. Once you have decided on a product you need close the window that you were just viewing and click on the % sign located next to the title of the site you were just looking at. A new window will pop up. Here you will need to enter the nickname that you chose when you signed up. Upon entering your nickname, you will see this.

Here you see two URLs. The first one is just a regular web address that is linked to your account in Clickbank. This is the one we will be using. Later on you will input this URL into a pay-per click engine. The second URL is more for webmasters. It is an HTML link that can be placed into a website.
O.K. We have successfully signed up with an affiliate marketing company. Now we have access to the products and services that we are going to sell for a % of the price. The next step in this process is to sign up with a Pay-Per Click Service. The two most popular are Google AdWords and Overture. I will be showing you how to use Google AdWords.
Before I take you any further you will need to complete this short tutorial on Google AdWords.

You are now on the sign up screen. In the middle of the screen you will see the words Sign Up Now in bold text. Click this to begin signing up. The first page you come to is
Step 1 of 4: Choose your language and location targeting.
Here you will decide who will get to see your listings. After making your choice click Save and Continue. The next page you come to is
Step 1b: Choose your countries.
On this page you will decide which countries to promote your ad in. After you have chosen which countries you would like your ad to be displayed in click save and continue.
Step 2 of 4: Create Ad Groups.
Next up is just naming the AdWord. This is just for your reference when you have more then one AdWord running at a time. Name your AdWord then go to
A: Create ads.
Type in your Headline is the first column. Then you place your description in the next two lines. The next line is the Destination URL, this is for your URL that you got from Clickbank when you chose which product you wanted to sell. And finally, in the Destination field place the same URL you used in the Display URL. Now click Create Ad & Continue.
Choose keywords.
Here you will want to chose your keywords for your ad. Choosing keywords is very important. For more information on Keyword selection CLICK HERE. Once you have chosen some keywords you think people might use to find the product or service you are selling click Save Keywords.
Choose keywords and maximum cost-per-click.
This step is really easy. All you need to do is decide what you want to pay each time someone clicks on your ad. This is the way I decide how much I want to pay per click through. I take the price of the product or service I am selling. Lets say its $100. Then I pick how much money I am willing to spend per click, lets say it is .05 cents. So at only .05 cents per click, I can successfully promote my Ad to 2000 people who were interested enough in the product to look it up in the first place. Now lets say your affiliate is offering 50% commission for the product you are selling. Just one sale would make you $50. Once you have chosen a cost per click you need to click on the button labeled Calculate Estimates. This will show you how many times that particular keyword is normally looked up. If everything is O.K. at this point go ahead and click on Save & Continue.
Before you specify your budget, would you like to create another Ad Group?
Just click Continue to Step 3.
Step 3 of 4: Specify your daily budget.
This is the best part of Google AdWords. Here you specify how much money you are willing to spend each day. What ever number you decide on, Google will not let your account spend anymore then what you tell it to. Once you decide how much you are willing to spend each day click Save & Continue.
Step 4 of 4: Sign up.
Next is the final stage. All you have to do in fill in your information, and click "I agree--Create my AdWords account and your done."
But not really. Any successful affiliate marketer will tell you that the more time you spend learning and practicing, the more money you will make. Google AdWords gives you all kinds of statistics when you log into your account. So once your ad has been up and running for awhile, you'll need to log into your account and study the stats that it gives you. You can log into your account by going to Google's home page, clicking on Advertising Programs and then selecting Google AdWords. From here you just type in your e-mail and password. You can see which keywords are performing better, how much money you have spent, and many many more useful things. It will probably take about 15 minutes for your ad to show up on Google's pages. If you have done anything wrong Google will send you an e-mail letting you know what you need to do to fix the problem. If everything was done right, you will have successfully started down the road to working at home. Now all you need to do is keep a close eye on your AdWords stats and sit back and wait for the money to start rolling in. If your first Ad does not do so well, don't get discouraged. Just keep trying new things and you'll find something that works.
