Have you ever wondered if humans are alone?

THIS MIGHT CHANGE THE WAY YOU THINK

When I start to wonder "could their possibly be intelligent life on other planets", I think of it this way. If you scooped up a handful of sand how many little sand grains do you think you would be holding? A million? A billion? O.K. Now think of how much sand their is in all the world. From the biggest deserts, to the smallest beaches, how many little sand grains do you think there are now. It would come out to be a number that you couldn't possibly imagine.

O.K., now imagine that each one of those little grains of sand are planets in our galaxy. Now multiply the number of planets in our galaxy (grains of sand in the entire world) by the number of known galaxies. Which is over 100 million. My point is that you would have to be really naive to think that out of that many planets we are the only species to advance this far.

This is a 2-D picture of just some of the farthest galaxies ever photographed by humans. Now remember each one of these galaxies contain hundreds of billions of planets. How many galaxies can you count in just this one picture? This little picture only represents the smallest fraction of the galaxies that we know exist. So you see, if you look at it from a numbers perspective then you would have to believe that somewhere out there right now, there is a planet that houses intelligent life. Heck, there are probably a number of planets that house intelligent life. Many scientists believe that it's not a matter of how much life we will find on other planets but how evolved an intelligent that life will be. Finding micro organisms will be very common when we start collecting samples from other planets or visiting them. However finding extraterrestrial life that is intelligent will be far more rare.

PONDER THIS

Scientists have now discovered that life can be found in temperatures hotter and more toxic then we ever imagined. Here is a quote from GNN Genome News Network

"Laboratories worldwide are investigating the biology of these life forms to understand what confers their extreme resistance to acid and heat. The findings may have potential applications for a variety of industries, such as space exploration. "The emerging genome sequence has been exploited extensively," the researchers write." So if life can be found at really high temperatures. And in toxic surroundings. Why then would it be so hard to believe that somewhere out there life could be possible among those billions and billions of planets. Alright, I'll throw in one more thing that will help you come to terms with there actually being life on other planets, whether it be intelligent or not.

Methane has been found in the Martian atmosphere which scientists say could be a sign that life exists today on Mars.

There is an old saying among scientists. Find methane in a planets atmosphere and there is a 99.9 percent possibility that there is life on that planet. Don't believe me? It's not really a matter of if we will find life on other planets, but a question of when and if it is intelligent or not. Chances are though that when we do first discover life on other planets it will be that of micro organisms. But if micro organisms can survive on other planets the argument can be made that intelligent life is somewhere out there also.
