Here I will discuss how to start working from home as an internet Webmaster. This is a crash course in becoming an internet Webmaster. This is by no means a full in depth look at web mastering, just a quick guide to getting you started making money online right away. What you learn here will give you a push in the right direction. As a webmaster you will be building web pages and promoting them on the internet. So the first thing you need to understand is some basic HTML. Learning the basics is really very easy. ACCEPTING PAYMENTS ONLINE
O.K. You now know how to build a simple web page right? Now I am going to cover how to accept payments online without it costing you any money upfront. This is probably the easiest step in the whole process. I will tell you two different ways you can accept payments online. The first is Pay-Pal. Pay-Pal is the world leading online payment processor. Most likely if someone wants to purchase something online they already know what Pay-Pal is. To accept payments through Pay-Pal just CLICK HERE and sign up for free. To accept credit card payments online through your website you will want to select the business account when opening your new account. Once you are a member just log into your account and click on the tab labeled Merchant Tools. Here Pay-Pal will describe how to set up your payment link. Basically all you are going to be doing is copying and pasting a simple HTML link into your website. When people click on this link they will be taken to a Pay-Pal payment screen that you have set up. From here the money just gets transferred into your Pay-Pal account.
The other way to accept money is just to let your affiliate company (if you have signed up with one) handle all your transactions. Webmasters who do this usually get paid by their affiliate companies about twice a month by check.
PURCHASING WEB SERVER SPACE
In order to publish your new web page to the internet, you will need to purchase some web server space. Don't get discouraged by the word purchase. It will only run you about $10 a month, however the initial start up cost will be around $50 including your firsts month payment. Many people have many different reasons why they choose different companies to host their web page, but I like to go with a company that has free 24 hour round the clock technical service. Because as a newbie you will need all the help you can get. Calling your hosting tech. department is a good way to solve any problems you come across as a newbie. This is the reason that I chose Netnation, and this is the reason I am recommending Netnation. Their technical support has helped me endless times when I was in a bind. So just go to their HOME PAGE. Once there click on Shared Hosting located in the middle of the screen on the home page. From here you have two choices. You can either select the Quickweb package or the Starter Plus package. Read over the descriptions and find out which is best for you, but as a newbie I would suggest that you choose from these two. During your sign up process you will be asked to select a domain name (a.k.a. web address). Make sure that whatever name you decide on for your website, it has to deal with whatever you plan on doing with your web page. Basically your name should reflect the idea of your site. Once you decide which package is right for you continue on through the sign up process. If you have any problems signing up don't hesitate to call a sales person and they will be able to walk you through the whole process. Once you are done purchasing your web server space all you have to do start to build and upload your website. Purchasing web server space is probably the most difficult part of the whole process. SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION
The really cool thing about the internet is that you can get millions of paying customers to your site every month for free if you know how. That's right millions. FOR FREE There is a little thing called Search Engine Optimization or SEO as I will refer to it from now on. SEO is what causes different results to be displayed for different search engines. Each search engine has a set of rules that they rank each website on. A sites rank is determined by the amount of CORRECT SEO performed on it. I say correct because there is also a thing known as a SEO penalty. This is where a site doesn't follow the search engines rules and is penalized for it. You can build a website, submit it to all the search engines in the world, and still not get any traffic. SEO is very important if you plan on making any money off the internet. Explaining SEO would take way to long, but don't fret because those who are willing to fork out a tiny bit of cash can purchase software that will perform all the SEO for you. The good thing about some of these programs is that they know what will get you ranked well, and what will get you banned. Having software that performs this SEO for you can mean the difference between being ranked #1 on Google or #1000. If your site is ranked #1 on Google you can expect hoards of traffic. However, if your site is ranked #1000, then you might not ever get a single visitor. So you see, SEO is really the most important thing there is. You can build the most awesome site in the world but if nobody ever visits it then all your work is for nothing.
